How do I get my band's music played on Reign Radio?

Getting your music to us is easy! Send us a CD. We constantly get sent emails by band members asking us to check out their cool band, along with a link to their website. Then we have to go there find the link to listen, and fight to hear a song from the band. Let's face it, that's work that we have to do to listen to your band! If you really want us to consider playing your band you're going to have to do some work, DON'T EMAIL US ASKING US TO CHECK OUT YOUR COOL BAND ON THE WEB! Think about it, you're trying to sell us on your band, you want present it in a way that will interest us. Write up a nice bio on the band, with background information, concerts and festivals you've played and are going to play, and contact info, website, email addresses, etc., print them out using a laser or ink jet printer on a clean sheet of paper, and put it into a padded mailing envelope with a CD from your band. A burned copy is fine, but make sure it plays on a CD player before sending. Also make sure to include song titles and any performing rights info (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC writers) for proper credit, lyrics are a nice plus but not required. Address the padded envelope to our mailing address, found below, and place in the mail with enough postage. Also, don't ask us to send something back to you, we don't have the time so answer "What did you think about us" questionnaires, and if you want the CD you sent us back, don't bother sending it, CD's are cheap and the only way it will come back from us is if you don't put enough postage on it!

Now that we made you mad at us because you have to go through the effort of sending us a CD, lets talk about why we might not consider your songs for airplay and really make you mad.

First, band image. Although Reign Radio will play your band if it is not a "Christian Band," it needs to be evident that the band members are Christians, and the lyrics are written from a Christian perspective.

Second, music style. If you listen to Reign Radio it should be obvious wether your band would fit in or not, but if in doubt consider this. Reign Radio plays a predominantly hard rock / metal format, if your band does not fit this we will not consider it.

Third, production quality. What is production quality? The quality of the recording, if you recorded your band in your garage on a portable cassette deck the production quality is going to be poor at best! Your band's music needs to sound as good as the rest of the music we play on Reign Radio, poorly recorded and mixed songs will not be considered. When in doubt ask this question... Did we spend time in a professional studio to get our recording the best it could be? If you answered no, then it probably does not meet our quality standards.

Fourth, well written songs. This one may be rough, although you might think you've written the best songs ever written, and you should win a Grammy for it, others may not agree. We have to make a decision wether we think your song(s) are good enough to make it on Reign Radio. We may not think your songs are up to our standard of play, sorry if we make you cry, but we have to have a standard.

Fifth, don't bug us! We're telling you this for your benefit, if you send us email every week asking us if we are going to play your music, chances are we are going to get annoyed and mysteriously misplace your CD in a trash can. We're just being honest here, if we decide to play your band's music we usually will contact you and inform you that we are adding a cut from the album to our playlist.

Also don't ask us to tell you why we are not playing your song, we've been in the music industry for over 15 years, and we can usually decide wether a song is something we will consider within the first minute or even seconds of listening. We do not have the time to write detailed criticism of your songs, if we hear something we like and it fits, we might play it. If we choose not to play a song it can be for a number of reasons, and honestly we probably won't remember what they were after we listen to 5 other bands that same day.
